January always feels like a blank page waiting to be written on.
The decorations come down, the house quiets, and suddenly there’s room to breathe again. It’s both a relief and an invitation—a soft reminder that every ending is also a beginning.
Why Do New Beginnings Feel So Scary (and So Exciting)?
Because change always comes with unknowns. And unknowns? They’re the start of every great adventure.
That’s what I love about stories. Every book begins with uncertainty, but by the last page, we’ve traveled, grown, and (hopefully) laughed our way into something new. Life’s kind of like that. We don’t know what the next chapter holds, but we keep turning the page anyway.
How Stories Help Us Embrace What’s Next
Fiction gives us courage to start again.
When a character steps into the unknown, we’re right there with them—holding our breath, cheering them on, believing they’ll find their way. Those moments remind us we can face our own blank pages, too.
Maybe that’s the real reason we love stories: they teach us that beginnings aren’t about perfection. They’re about possibility.
What I’m Looking Forward To This Year
I’ve got new adventures planned for the page (and probably a few for real life, too). There will be laughter, danger, and a few unexpected detours, but that’s half the fun.
Here’s to a year filled with stories that remind us to hope, to laugh, and to keep turning the page—no matter what. 💖
