Craving a good read? Here's your chance! Download the full short story, "Family Treed." Trust me, it's a hilarious yet nail-biting night out that will leave you craving more!
As I mentioned last week, I hadn’t planned to write more books in my Project Enterprise series, but I kept getting requests, so I decided to give it a try. In previous books, I mentioned that there were other ships, going in different directions from the Doolittle and Found Girl is the story of one of those ships.
I got to do some fun (i.e. mean) things in the book and there are also flamingos. Yes, I went there. Lol To read the story behind the story, you click here. And to find out more about Found Girl go here.
Laurie A. Green is a great author and the ruler of the Science Fiction Romance Brigade (just kidding, but she did launch the effort to bring scifi romance authors together. The community has grown by leaps and bounds which is great for readers because more authors mean more books.
As with the others, I struggled about which of her books to recommend, but decided on this shorter story as a great entry book for new readers, particularly if you’re new to SFR.
Here are all the details for you to find out more:
Navigator Taro Shall’s captain assigns him an unexpected mission–find a way to eradicate deadly vipers that have infested starship Calypso. He never expects to find the solution to his problem in the hands of Adini, a charming street vendor. But the bio-engineered StarDog he acquires turns out to be a galactic hot potato, and both Taro and Adini are soon fugitives on the run.
Adini Kemm can’t deny her fascination for the honor-bound navigator, though his past and her present seem to null any chance at a shared future. Until her father’s capture as a spy catapults both her and Taro into a desperate bid to save him…and straight into the clut ches of a brewing insurrection.
As Taro’s bond with Adini grows, so does their jeopardy. Determined not to draw Calypso or his captain into the fray, Taro must rely on his wits to keep both Adini and his secrets safe from the renegade leader who takes them prisoner.
Based on a short story in the very popular Pets in Space anthology, winner of two 2016 SFR Galaxy Awards and named by LibraryJournal.com as one of the “Best Books of 2016.” StarDog returns as a standalone story in The Inherited Stars Series at double the length–with expanded scenes, new chapters and a new epilogue.
I hope you’ll check out both books if you haven’t already! Okay, I shared mine, what are your fun reads this week?
Perilously yours,
Pauline
