Reunited Lovers in Embrace the Passion: Pets in Space 3!

My own romance ended up being a "reunited lovers" story.

One of my favorite pairings to write is the “reunited lovers” trope. Probably because my own romance ended up being a “reunited lovers” story. My college boyfriend and I were together for 6 years, we broke up when I moved away, reunited after four years apart, got married, and now we have a beautiful—and energetic! So energetic!—toddler together. So it’s really no surprise that I love a good reunited lovers story.

In my Pets in Space story, The Bajo Cats of Anteros XII, my couple faced a difficulty in their relationship and made some flawed choices. Circumstances drove them apart, but now they’re back together. Of course, the problem with reunited lovers—and the juicy part—is for them to reunite you first have to force them to confront what drove them apart in the first place. In this case, that’s kittens. Some very special alien kittens. My heroine will have to decide if she can live with her love’s rescue work or if he needs to choose between her and the kittens. Read the story to find out if everyone (including the kittens) get their happily ever after. 😉

Do you like the reunited lovers trope? Do you have any favorite stories featuring reunited lovers?

The line clicked and a raspy voice answered. The vid feed snapped into focus a minute later, and his chest went tight seeing her. Tousled hair, sleepy eyes, lips pursed and soft with sleep. Her brow furrowed, and her gaze sharpened as she shook her head. “Zandro, what the hell?”

An ache started in his gut at her familiar sleep-roughened voice, a squeeze that made him nearly breathless. “Hi, Aliette.”

She pulled her unruly red hair away from her eyes. “Zandro. What. The. Hell.”

He cleared his throat. “I, um, I need a favor.”

Aliette stared at him a long moment, blinking. Her sleepy brain probably wasn’t functioning at full speed yet. Her nostrils flared as she raked her gaze up and down his face. “Are you kidding me?”
