I wish I was there, sitting on one of those rocks. Even though the adult me knows they are hard, even with the “cushion of age” on my tush. And that stretching a swim suit over that cushion is…well…yeah.
I blame it on Walt Disney. Think about all the things his movies made seem magical and cool.
- Swimming in rock lined water holes.
- Tree houses.
- Journeys to almost anywhere.
- Solving mysteries
- Animals that think and talk like we do.
- Princesses
- Princes
- Pirates
- Bitter cats
- Nannies
Did you grow up to Magical World of Disney and the movies? Oh the movies. I still remember waiting in line for Mary Poppins. And that feeling as it started, the way the child-filled theater would go silent as the music started…
I had a huge, kid crush on Haley Mills. My mom wanted me to be Shirley Temple, but I wanted to be Haley Mills. Did you heart any Disney actors or characters? Want to be them? I can’t make your wishes come true, but your comment will be entered into my monthly drawing for an AnaBanana gift basket of almost magic. And since this is the last blog post of August, do it now before you miss your chance!
Perilously (and still not Haley Mills) yours,
Pauline
It is possible that Walt Disney is responsible for Pauline becoming an author. He certainly managed to engage and stir her imagination. She blames the mayhem part of her writing on having four brothers. For more insight into Pauline’s quirks and her books, pop over to her website at paulinebjones.com.
