Craving a good read? Here's your chance! Download the full short story, "Family Treed." Trust me, it's a hilarious yet nail-biting night out that will leave you craving more!
This month, over on Blush Free Books, we’re celebrating audiobooks that don’t make you blush or burn your ears.
I’m a late-life adopter of audiobooks and was excited when some of my favorite authors released in audio.
And then I started listening and realized just how much I’d been skipping pages. 😱😱
Yeah, audiobook steamy scenes are SO not my jam. But I also am not wild about the super sweet books.
I like a little meat in the stories that I read (and write).
So here are few picks from the highlighted audiobooks for April:
Zebra by Jill Wallace – wonderful story set in South Africa, but it does come with a language warning.
Two audiobooks by S.E. Smith. Voyage of the Defiance and Capture of the Defiance are classified young adult, but the stories are meaty enough for grownups, too.
Wreck of the Nebula Dream by Verionica Scott. This book was my first by this author, and I had to grab the audiobook, too. Lots and lots of intense adventure, romantic complications, and a happy-ever-after.
I am also a huge Elizabeth Cadell fan and her heirs have been releasing her books in audio editions. For more blush-free listening check out Mary Stewart and Georgette Heyer. I own some DE Stevenson and Agatha Christie audiobooks, too.
There is something lovely about being read to. And if its Richard Armitage? That’s a nice voice to go to sleep to. 😂😂
If you’ve never tried an audiobook, I hope you’ll check out mine. They are guaranteed blush-free, exciting listens.
Perilously yours,
Pauline
