Craving a good read? Here's your chance! Download the full short story, "Family Treed." Trust me, it's a hilarious yet nail-biting night out that will leave you craving more!
First off, let me say, “Happy Birthday, Mom!!” She turns 80 today. Love you and so excited I get to spend it with you this year!
Okay, I thought I’d take a slightly different tack this week. I’m kind of not tapped into the music scene, so when Philip Philips sang “Somebody that I used to Know” (original by Gotye) in his duet on American Idol, I went looking for the song. Yeah, I hadn’t heard it. I’m a hermit. Thank goodness for the internet. I found a long list of different groups on YouTube, of course, doing different covers of the song. One of my favorite versions was this one:
Really liked it. Loved the hat and the glasses, too. I could totally see her as one of my characters. Yeah, she’s a lot like the character in my current book, only my character doesn’t sing that well. I tried to find this version in iTunes, but couldn’t. So if Army of 3 happens to see this, I would buy it. 🙂 (And why weren’t glasses that cool when I wore them?)
Okay, whining over, let’s move on to the link love. I thought I’d link to food this Friday, because I was hungry when I did this blog post. And I like food. Cake. Bacon. Chocolate. Food. Deep breath, okay, here’s my links:
The Sweet Tooth Fairy – It seems the owner was the winner of Cup Cake Wars. Sadly, they don’t ship in the summer, but I’m making a note for when the temps start cooling because I do like me some cake.
I link to The Pioneer Woman, but I’d like to point you to the recipe part of her blog. Oh. My. Goodness. The photos make me drool and probably gain weight.
And last, but not least, there is MunatyCooking. More licking of chops over this blog. She just released her “Best Low Cal Recipes from around the world.” Everything looks pretty yummy for healthy stuff. And I know her sister, well, I online know her. She’s nice.
So, I figure you eat, but do you like to browse for recipes? Cook? Watch the Food Network? I like watching people cook more than doing it myself. Have any fun sites to share? I love comments so…
Comment on any July blog post and be entered into the drawing for another $10 AnaBanana Gift Card of awesomeness.
And now I need to eat some of my mom’s birthday c-a-a-a-a-ke…
Perilously,
Pauline
