Craving a good read? Here's your chance! Download the full short story, "Family Treed." Trust me, it's a hilarious yet nail-biting night out that will leave you craving more!
I’d like to welcome S.E. and K-Nine to the blog today, as part of the upcoming release of Pets in Space!
S.E.: Welcome, K-Nine. Thank you for joining us today.
K-Nine: Thank you for having me. I’m glad the Earth is still around so that we could talk.
S.E.: LOL. Me, too. Tell me a little about yourself.
K-Nine: (sniffs and shrugs) I am a cyborg Despairing Wolfhound. I was genetically cloned and modified in a lab. I spent the first two years being trained for the Cyborg Protection Unit.
S.E.: When did you meet Matrix?
K-Nine: (looking thoughtful) I was a little over six weeks old. I was already a good size and (lips curving upward to show his sharp teeth) already a handful. The trainer and I did not see eye to eye. I was taller than he was.
S.E.: (chuckling) Something tells me that you and Matrix are a good match for each other. What is it like being his partner?
K-Nine: (smirking) His mother loves me, need I say more? She has instructed me to find him a life mate. Matrix will have to give in because once I imprint on a female, she is part of my family. Matrix has been fighting me on the issue, but he’ll have to come around.
S.E.: (surprised; looks at K-Nine with a raised eyebrow) Why is that?
K-Nine: (shrugs again) Because I will rip out any other female’s throat if he picks one I don’t like.
S.E.: Wow! Would he pick another partner?
K-Nine: (Shaking his head) No, he can’t. First, we’ve been warned we are partners until one of us is dead by our commanding officer. Two, I’ve imprinted on Matrix. He is stuck with me as I’ve made him part of my pack. And last, I promised his mom. I’m not going to disappoint her.
S.E.: (nodding) Yes, I remember you saying that. Out of curiosity, have you found someone for Matrix?
K-Nine: (sides moving as he laughs) Yes, Jana. She has already knocked Matrix out, something that I never thought I would see.
S.E.: (laughing) I look forward to finding out what happens and meeting Matrix and Jana in person. Thank you so much for joining me today.
K-Nine: Thank you, S.E. for inviting me. I look forward to sharing our journey with readers in A Mate for Matrix: Cyborg Protection Unit out October 11, 2016 in the Pets in Space Anthology.
Sneak peeks of a few sentences from A Mate for Matrix: Cyborg Protection Unit.
“That is going to hurt when he wakes up,” Linguine muttered before releasing a deep sigh and sitting down. “This is Matrix. I am K-Nine. We are agents with the Cyborg Protection Unit.”
“You can talk,” Jana mumbled, staring in confusion at Linguine – K-Nine. “You… Dogs can’t talk. I mean, not like people talk….” Her voice faded and she reached up to grip the towel again with both hands.
