#GrandmaProject Report & Books for 2 yr olds?

photo of pauline with grand kids

Heaven!

So I thought I ought to return and report on how the #GrandmaProject went during the holidays. I’m happy to note that:

  • No grandchildren were lost or injured during the holidays
  • No parents or grandparents were lost or injured during the holidays

In fact, there was an extreme level of sheer happiness for the grandparents and I think the parents were happy to have some help with the twins. Some sleeping in happened, they got to see some movies, and do some kid-free shopping.

Yes, we all caught the flu, but that was at the end. I felt bad sending them all home sick, but they are young and have recovered.

So I’m scoring this as a win. 🙂

Up next is birthday shopping for two, two-year olds. Books were mentioned. Based on observation by us during the holidays, they need/like sturdy books with the possibility for sound effects. They love to be read to, but they also like to “read” to themselves.

So I’m here asking for more help. I’ve already got them a lot of the Suess easy readers, the Pout Pout Fish books, stuff like that. Are any of the pop-up books sturdy enough for 2 yr olds? Any other suggestions for awesome birthday gifts for twins about to enter the terribly-awesome twos?

Not only will you save a grandma (cuz this is seriously life threatening. Really.) but you have to chance to make her look good. I mean, who doesn’t want to help a grandma look good? And there is something in it for you. I enter all comments into my monthly drawing for an AnaBanana gift basket ($25 value). I announce a winner the first blog post of the new month. (There’s still time to be entered for the second gift basket by commenting on my Why I Broke Up My Big A** Books post).

Perilously yours,

Pauline

P.S. I didn’t read ANYTHING over the holidays, but I did listen to some fun stuff, particularly while I was in the flu zone. If you like to listen to your books, mine are available in audio, too (well, except Core Punch, which should be available this spring.)
