So, I made (with a LOT of help) an adult coloring book. For adults. Not adult (as in, well, adult. Okay, the pets are not dressed, but they are pets. They are cute, not sexy.) It’s for Embrace the Romance: Pets in Space 2.
See, last year, when we did Pets in Space (we didn’t call it 1, because we didn’t know there would be a 2), we commissioned Nyssa Juneau to draw our various pets—normal and alien—to include at the beginning of each story. We loved the sketches, so of course, we asked her to do it again.
Our team put together a digital coloring book which is totally free here. And then one of the authors asked if the sketches could be made into a print coloring book. It sounded simple, but it’s not as easy as you’d think. But we did it. So we have a digital and a print version. It includes the sketches of our pets and few other images, which technically means it’s not just for adults. Because there are pets, which anyone who likes to color might want to color.
So maybe I should just call it a coloring book.
So, with a LOT of help, I made a coloring book.
Here’s my page from the coloring book:
This is Sir Rupert from my story in Embrace the Romance: Pets in Space 2.
My story is called Time Trap and it’s a Novella in the Project Enterprise Series.
Hiding in time is not as easy as you’d think…
Madison lives by the rules of a time travel rebel – never tell anyone your real name, not if you want to remain alive. On the track of a traitor, Madison and her parrot partner, Sir Rupert, time travel into a trap. Their only way out sends them back in time and into the arms of a man that ignites a fire inside her.
USAF Master Sergeant Briggs is in trouble – not the kind he’d like to be, but still in trouble. He is bored out of his mind! Ordered to recuperate on a quiet bay away from the Garradian outpost, he’s ready to mutiny and go back to his beloved engines. When his friends send him a gift from Area 51, he figures it will relieve his boredom for an hour or so – until he turns it on and he gets his second present of the day.
Madison would love to get to know Briggs better, but it is just too dangerous. Unfortunately, she might not have much choice. With a Time Service Interdiction Force on their heels, can the three craft a plan that will save a base full of geniuses and technology and discover a happy-ever-after forged through time?

Do you like adult coloring books? Or just coloring books? I love comments so much that I pick a favorite to receive my monthly AnaBanana gift basket ($25 value). (And don’t forget that once a quarter I’ll be tossing in something fun from the Perilously Fun Shop!) The recipient is announced in the first blog post of the new month.
You will note this is the fifth day of August and the second blog post for August. I should have announced a winner already, but August, well, August hates me. I caught a cold and had a credit card stolen, but I also have been having some awesome Grandma time. But that’s why I’m late. So here we go! The July gift basket winner is:
April Layher!
Thank you for stopping to share your thoughts! AnaBanana will be in touch with you to arrange delivery. 🙂
Perilously yours,
Pauline
