Craving a good read? Here's your chance! Download the full short story, "Family Treed." Trust me, it's a hilarious yet nail-biting night out that will leave you craving more!
We interrupt my regularly scheduled “why I wrote/read” feature this week because something very special is happening this May. In fact, it has happened for the last ten years and I’m really excited to be involved in my small way for the tenth anniversary.
Here’s the scoop from the website:
“Join me help my son and all the others out there who suffer from diabetes, which is the 5th deadliest killer.
This year, the money from my efforts will be donated to The Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami.
The Diabetes Research Institute (DRI)is a recognized world leader in cure-focused research. Since its inception in the early 1970s, the DRI has made significant contributions to the field of diabetes research, pioneering many of the techniques used in islet cell transplantation. From innovations in islet isolation and transplant procedures to advances in cell biology and immunology, the Diabetes Research Institute is now harnessing the power of emerging technologies to develop new cell-based therapies to restore insulin production.
By bidding you will not only win some exciting and unique items and/or opportunities, you’ll be supporting a very worthy research-based organization. To find out more about the Diabetes Research Institute, visit their website at www.DiabetesResearch.org.”
You can find me in the “Out of this World offerings from the SFR Brigade.” There are 34 cool items up for bid, and our category is only one of hundreds. You do need to register to bid, but it’s a very user friendly process.
And this is the direct link to my contribution:

Please note that this basket includes shipping to U.S. addresses. International bidders will receive e-books and an AnaBanana gift certificate of equal value as a substitution due to the high cost of international shipping.
The auction starts tomorrow, but you can register today and you will receive notification when the “doors” open for the bidding to begin. It’s a great cause that I hope you’ll find time to support. 🙂
Have you heard of the auction? Has diabetes touched your life, or the life of a loved one? Comments are entered into my monthly drawing for an AnaBanana gift basket ($25 value) and this is your last chance for April. Winner will be announced in my next blog post!
And if you made it this far, I’d like to add that I’m visiting over at Mystery Muse today. Hope you’ll pop over and say hi!
Perilously yours,
Pauline
And here’s your custom tweet for today:
