The Road Taken

We're all the way home again. :-)

Sunlight creek road

We were treated to this morning view of the Absaroka Mountains as we drove along the road up Sunlight Creek just east of where Strawberry Gulch crosses the road. A beautiful morning in Wyoming! Copyright by WyoJones. All rights reserved. Used with permission.

We made it all the way home in July.

I know I’ve been writing about being home in Wyoming for the last couple of years, but we hadn’t completely transitioned here until we went in and changed our license plates and drivers’ licenses.

Yup, it’s official. We belong to Wyoming again.

Ahead are the roads we’ve taken and some roads not taken…yet. Because now we can. We’re here!

Every curve seems to stir my memory. With the glow of time, the ones that bubble up from the past are good. The first 18 years of my life weren’t perfect, but they shaped me and prepared me for my adventures in “distant” lands (hey, back in the day Texas and Louisiana were pretty far away. And many have called Louisiana the nearest you can get to a foreign assignment without leaving the US. Haha).

We lived. We ate amazing food. We raised kids. We got old.

We came home.

It feels right. It feels good.

And for this hermit, it’s less crowded. Lol

How is August treating you so far?

Perilously yours,

Pauline
