It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane! Oh, It’s a Bird…

“Don’t mind me. I’m here for the bugs.”

So, not long after a heavy rain, I took a stroll down to check the mail. I’d left the gate open for some reason. And you know how you see something, movement maybe, out of the corner of your eye and you’re not sure you should look. Maybe you don’t want to know what’s in your yard.

So I look. Yup. It’s a bird.

A big bird. Not the Sesame Street Big Bird, but a BIG bird.

So I snap a shot and posted it to Facebook to find out what kind of BIG bird it is.

And my daughter says, “It’s a bird. It’s a plane. No, it’s a bird.”

I guess I asked for it. LOL

But some other experts, including the hubs weighed in with: it’s a guinea fowl. And someone sent me a recipe. O.O Though it strolled off after using our yard as its personal buffet and well before it could become part of my personal buffet.

I’m wondering where it came from, but I will probably never know.

So that’s my “wishing for a wormhole” post this week. I’m wishing I knew how a guinea fowl ended up in the yard of our “deep in the heart of Houston” house.

Ever see movement and wonder if you should look? Did you look? Would you look again? You know all comments are entered into my monthly drawing for an AnaBanana gift basket ($25 value) of non-guinea fowl awesome. I announce a winner the first blog post of the new month! Guess what, it happens to be this post! Cuz it’s the first blog post! So see the announcement below!
